One misplaced hurdle leads to several unforeseen faceplants.
A few years ago at a high school track meet in Anchorage, Alaska, someone had forgotten to move the sixth hurdle from the girls’ 100-meter mark to the boys’ 110-meter mark, placing it several meters closer than it should have been. As a result of this mistake, four boys fell and one had to be taken to the hospital.
Watch this video for a slow-motion shot of the accident and where it all went horribly wrong. Not only is this a faceplant tragedy, but also a major fail on the part of the race official who forgot to move that single hurdle.
