Rocking out while running has reached a whole new level.
Treadmill running can be a bore, unless you’re Brendan, a 24-year-old Australian who has mastered the rare art of treadmill drumming. We’re almost certain he’s the only runner that does this for fun and is actually quite good at it.
On his YouTube page (bigZ Cymbals), Brendan describes himself as an “obsessed marathoner and out-of-work drummer.” In fact, he first started recording his running drummer feats in 2013 with 6 videos, the first song he drummed to being “Bring Me to Life” by Evanescence. However, the videos stopped because Brendan had to sell his treadmill, which is probably why you’ve never heard of him until now.
Due to popular demand, though, Brendan bought a new treadmill, started recording again and kicked off 2015 with his seventh treadmill drumming video. He’s done 10 in total including songs by Heart, Metallica, Katy Perry, etc.
Here he performs one of his latest covers on “Jump,” by Van Halen, posted earlier this week.
